What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis can be a really helpful way to tackle stress and anxiety, phobias and trauma. It is a way of really focussing your attention on your problem, whilst allowing everything around you to drift away from you as you listen to the suggestions made by your hypnotherapist. These suggestions can be accepted or rejected by you. It’s your choice.

People are sometimes concerned about hypnotherapy because of the stage hypnotists they have seen deliberately humiliating people. I have had many people mention their fear of being ‘made to cluck like a chicken’. I don’t have the space here to discuss the highly selective process those stage hypnotists use, nor the pressure felt by those members of the audience when up on the stage in front of others, but I am happy to share more information on this during discovery calls with potential clients.

I personally use hypnotherapy as a tool when I work with my clients, and I use it in combination with other techniques I am trained in, such as Timeline Therapy™ and NLP. As a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society I am bound by a code of ethics which mean I uphold a set of standards laid down by them. Anxiety and panic

Hypnotherapy can be a helpful treatment if you experience anxiety and panic attacks.

There are different types of anxiety:

  • General anxiety disorder

  • Social anxiety disorder

  • Panic disorder

I offer a six session programme that combines both hypnotherapy and NLP techniques to address these issues. Some clients may need more than the six sessions, and some less.

phobias

If you have a phobia that is causing problems in your life then hypnotherapy can be a route to resolving your issue and setting you free. I use hypnotherapy and NLP techniques to work through these deep-rooted concerns.

Most of the phobia work I do can be completed in 1-2 sessions.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Do you experience challenges with your weight?

My 6 session Weight Management Programme is designed for those who want to manage their weight more effectively. That could be losing weight, maintaining weight, or moving to a point of self-acceptance.

This programme is about positive reinforcement, managing triggers, making choices that work for you and above all, being honest about the goal.

It’s a mindset programme and is not about counting calories, nutritional advice or diet plans. It is gentle, there is no walk of shame and its purpose is entirely positive.

It is supported with activities in between sessions, including learning self-hypnosis. The programme can be offered online or in person in the East Anglia region.
